Neighbors of the CV-734 collect more of 1200 signatures and will initiate new mobilizations before the double continuous line

Almost a month ago, neighbors and owners of homes and businesses in the vicinity of the CV 734, which joins Xàbia with Gata de Gorgos, They showed their discomfort for the new road safety measures that were being carried out, from the Generalitat Valenciana, without previous warning; Double continuous line in the entire vial.

After conversations between Javea Town Hall and Consellería de Infraestructuras a solution was agreed: The road, of about seven kilometers, would contemplate stretches with dashed line to facilitate access to the busiest areas. But this measure has not been liked by residents in the area, who, since then, have begun a campaign to collect signatures, as announced, so that this road again have the previous signaling conditions.

For now, and after a collective meeting to determine what new mobilizations to carry out, Xàbia.com has been able to know that they have collected more than 1200 signatures and they are studying to take more drastic measures.

And is that, as indicated by neighbors, "Unable to access our homes or businesses directly, we still have to drive more kilometers to make a change of direction".

The PP of Xàbia echoes the neighborhood malaise

Faced with this situation, the Popular Party of Xàbia has issued a statement that echoes the general malaise of the residents of the Gata-Xàbia highway and point out that the City Council should have imposed "first the roundabouts and then the double continuous line is signaled".

From the PP, "This solution has been minimal" so they urge the government team to continue working with the Ministry to return direct access to all roads with homes or businesses.

The City Council is waiting for an answer

Xàbia.com has contacted the Councilor for Services, Kika Mata, to know the current status of this claim. Mata has affirmed that from the first moment, "Both the mayor and I have been on the side of the neighbors and we have tried to find a solution by contacting the Ministry. We managed to authorize 11 turning points, taking us to the most traveled sections and roads, which is the current situation."

The mayor has added that now "We are awaiting an answer, since we also request the possibility that access to cadastral roads be discontinued. In addition, we also inform that this measure could have been assessed once the projected roundabouts were built".

Mata has said that from the City Council are aware of the traffic problem that this measure can cause as daily a total of 13000 vehicles circulate on this road, being many heavy vehicles.
