In the absence of small aesthetic touch-ups, this week the conditioning works have been completed to improve road safety on a road section of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, specifically at the crossroads between València Avenue, the Xàbia road and the Mercat street.
The new roundabout orders traffic and gives pedestrian accessibility in this environment. The action has been carried out by the company Vives Dalmau SL for an amount of 41.925,12 euros (VAT included). According to the technical reports, both of Engineering and of the Local Police, a mini-roundabout has been set up that guarantees the rotation of large vehicles and that, in addition, with this a speed reduction is achieved by the
drivers.
In addition, other traffic calming measures have been implemented such as reducing elements on the road and a new elevated pedestrian crossing. It has also acted on the current pavement around the intersection, so that it fits and is compatible with the future remodeling of the entire road.
In these, the necessary facilities for the future implantation of trees and a new public lighting installation have been planned.
Since the entry to the executive of the current government team, this roundabout has been a priority action, since it responds to the need to regulate traffic at a conflictive junction that was experiencing an increasing increase in vehicle traffic. In fact, at the beginning the negotiations began with a provisional and experimental roundabout marked with plastic bollards. The formula worked and made even more obvious the need to project a definitive roundabout.
