May 24 from 2023 - 10: 29

National Geographic Spain has published a list of the best beaches in Spain 2023. In the list there is a selection of the 25 beaches that he recommends visiting this summer. Among them are two from the Valencian Community and specifically, both belong to the province of Alicante, being one of those chosen, the Cala Granadella Xàbia.

The renowned magazine has marked, in this 2023 ranking, the Cala Granadella in position 8, that is, it sneaks into the TOP 10, the favorite and desired beaches.

The National Geographic publication highlights the Granadella, which is "one of the most beautiful in Spain and without a doubt one of the most beautiful in Alicante and the Valencian Community." The article in the prestigious magazine recommends walking early on this beach embraced by mountains, listening to the sound of the waves and the crunch of the pebbles.

The report also points out, at number 2 on the list, the beach of the Isla de Tabarca, as one of the best in the Valencian Community.

National Geographic clearly has good taste. It is a beach with turquoise and crystalline waters and where diving delights the senses... because Posidonia can still be seen. The best beaches are not the sandy ones... but the rocky and pebble ones... and of these in Jávea there are some of enormous beauty along its unrivaled coastline worldwide! After having seen many beautiful beaches around the world… I can say that I always stay with you JAVEA! 😍😍😘😘

In my opinion it is good news and a source of pride for all lovers of Xàbia.

  3. Maria says:

Too much tourism and a lot of hype are giving to our beaches...
Tourism that leaves garbage many times and little else. It does not generate wealth for the place.

But since they have insisted on attracting people... now comes what is coming and outrageous for a few years...

It looks great in the photos… the reality is different…

«….The article in the prestigious magazine recommends walking early on this beach embraced by mountains, listening to the sound of the waves and the crunch of the pebbles….»

As in the commercials where there is no one on the beach and only the model is walking. Then you go and you find reality, there are at least 100 more people and you don't hear the waves or "the crunch of the pebbles" that are destroying your feet because you haven't brought your crab shoes...

  5. María says:

Three years ago I was with my sisters they live in Xávea and we went to Cala de la Granedella and at the first sight I was struck by such beauty I would like to return

  6. Marta says:

La Granadella is a beautiful beach in winter. In summer it has become unbearable. And all these awards and mentions that are given, are hurting a lot. In addition, the transparency of the water in summer is very low because the sea is rough. It's not worth it anymore, really

  7. Julius King says:

I haven't been to La Granadella in summer for years, and I would like to go.

The last time I tried to swim there in summer, 4 years ago, there were so many people that we couldn't find a place to put the two towels, my wife and I sat on the edge of the curve for a while and headed home. We are not large people, quite the contrary, which is why it seemed unusual to us that we did not fit on the beach. It seems something very exaggerated, but it is not.

I wonder if in the end what they are looking for are overcrowded beaches, or if people need to stick together all year round, even in summer.
A burden this of so many people together, I do not understand.

Last summer in Jávea, walking through the Arenal and other places, I had the same feeling.

    • Luis says:

The towels directly on top of the pebbles? No one can stand that lying down for even 1 hour.

      • Julius King says:

We brought some bamboo mats that soften the theme, but yes, it is a beach with large boulders, it becomes uncomfortable to be on it without a bamboo mat.
On the other hand, it is possible to endure hours with an umbrella, if that information already fully satisfies you.
I remain at your disposal to give such a fantastic talk, which surely interests everyone.

    • Angeles says:

Totally true, it's overcrowded and it's really not that bad, if you get one of those days that is full of jellyfish you can die, you can't bathe and it's so hot that you freak out

  8. Carlos says:

    I don't understand it either

  9. María says:

The one from Tabarca I understand, this one doesn't.
