A total of 7.000 people enjoyed the Xàbia Jazz 2022

August 09 from 2022 - 12: 17

The Xàbia Jazz lowered the curtain of its XXI edition last night, three nights of music and a great atmosphere that have achieved a resounding success with the public.

The first of the concerts, by the prestigious Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés (winner of 6 Grammy Awards and 4 Latin Grammy Awards), seduced 3.000 people who enjoyed his mastery and Afro-Cuban rhythms.

On Sunday, the Barcelona singer Monique Makon revived the soul of Amy Winehouse with her tribute with the big band The Original Jazz Orchestra of the Taller de Músics de Catalunya. A tour of the best-known songs by the late British performer that thrilled the 2.000 attendees.

And the closure offered it last night Dancing Pepa, also before some 2.000 spectators, and a large number of Lindy Hop dancers who enjoyed the swing-laden songs that the Valencian group performed with great freshness.

Councilor for Culture, Quico Moragues, it has been a great joy to see the response of the public to this important cultural commitment that always has a leading role on summer nights in Xàbia.

Moragues has pointed out that for residents and visitors, Xàbia Jazz has been a gift this year (access has been free) and a celebration of the return to normality of culture, without capacity or restrictions, after the pandemic.

The mayor added that this support at the public level (also the exhibition The Balenciaga Century It is a complete success for visitors) is an incentive to continue looking for quality programming and to set our sights on Xàbia Jazz 2023.
