The Poble Nou de Benitatxell unites, for the first time, with a path the historic center and its landscape of vineyards with the spectacular coastline of cliffs of Cala Llebeig and Moraig. The General Director of Tourism, Josep Gisbert, visits with the Mayor, Miguel Ángel García, the Councilor for Territory, Environment and Landscape, Jorge Pascual, the interpretative path that allows the Llebeig and Moraig coves to be "a step".
The creation action of this path, Puig de la Llorença-Cala Llebeig, which connects the recently recovered route of the Serp with the Llebeig and Moraig coves, also linking with the cliffs route and its fishermen's cottages, has been possible thanks to a subsidy of 39.987 euros from the Valencian Agència del Turisme.
The path, of 9 kilometers, has a great tourist and landscape value, since from the top of the Puig you can see the whole Marina Alta, the cliffs and reliefs of the coastal area, the rural landscape of fields of vines and dry-land almond trees, and the sierras of the interior of the region. The project has included the installation of interpretive panels as well as connectivity to all existing routes.
This new route will encourage outdoor activities and attract quality tourism interested in culture and the environment. The proposed action includes the use of new technologies, mainly through the use of the mobile phone by installing QR codes in brochures and signage.
The new path runs through a valley full of shrubby vegetation and a rather rocky terrain, where there is currently no visible path. Once at the top of the Puig Llorença descend to the Cala Llebeig by Barranco de Garsivà and will cross the recreational area Kalmias, equipped with picnic tables, children's play area and biosaludable area.
The creation of this path fulfills one of the objectives of the new General Structural Plan and provides for the connection of all the landscape and natural enclaves of great value in the municipality.
