The first bullfighting session of the afternoon dels Bous a la Mar de Xàbia has had to be suspended due to a tragic event. In one of the moments of the day, a man has been reached by the heifer resulting in serious injury. According to witnesses to the event, the man, seeing the bull close by, did not know how to react to jump into the water and was hit in the groin.
Quickly, the wounded man was transferred to the Dénia hospital after he was treated and stabilized by the doctor in the bullfighting arena. Due to this event, the bous a la mar session has had to be suspended due to the lack of medical service.
Since the festivities have resumed after the break due to the pandemic, the bullfights have given bad news. So far this summer, seven people have died in these celebrations.
