A spectacular pageantry of the Filà Capitana 'Trabuquers' puts the finishing touch to the Fiestas de Moros i Cristians de Xàbia 2018

"Spectacular". Those were the words of dozens of people from the public who attended the Gala Parade of the Festival of Moors and Christians of Xàbia in the afternoon of Sunday night. A second day of parade in which the Filà Capitana 2018, the Filà Trabuquers He wore a magnificent pageantry divided into three blocks.

With ballets, floats, performances, the parade of the squads of women and men detaching striking with the suits, and with the appearance of the captains, the 2018 parties said goodbye in a big way.

But the beginning of the parade was led by the traditional entrance of bands, which at the end of the parade, all gathered at the Paseo de Jaume I to perform, in unison, the pasodable Xàbia before a large audience. An act that already celebrates its fourteenth edition.

At the 20 hours, on the dot, the black marches began to sound as it passed through the Arcade of Pius X. Thousands of people enjoyed the rhythm and color of the parade of all the filaes of Moros i Cristians de Xàbia. More than three hours of duration, in which the public, in addition, witnessed a pageantry of military and medieval court.

The pageantry of the Captaincy

The pageantry staged a tribute to the natural and marine beauty of the municipality, whose main spirit, the Nymph of the Montgó; he exhorted -with his songs- the people of Xàbia to go to war in order to preserve the village from the attack of the morisma. The people, represented by a great choir on foot, also staged the fear prior to the battle and the courage that was supposed to defend its cradle.

The second part showed the march to the war of the Christian Xabieros who carried standards, spears, percussion and powerful weapons to ensure victory. Also a surprise element that the Mohammedan troops did not imagine: a great dragon that flew from side to side, the heads of all the assembled public, spitting fire and with sound effects.

Finally, and after the victory, the army of the Trabuquers, paraded victorious showing the exuberance of their steeds, stables and gardens; and the pride of his soldiers. First came the advance of the Captains, two squads, male and female. In second place were the personal guards of the Captains. Captains 2018, Fernando Piles and Virginia Castellano, greeted the crowd with exuberance from their float, a blunderbuss of more than 11 meters in length.
