August 06 from 2021 - 15: 15

El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, has met this morning with the general director of Tourism, Herick Campos, who has visited Xàbia on the occasion of informing the main tourist destinations of the recovery plan 'NextGenerationEU', financed with funds from the European Union and through which the Valencian Community will receive close to 1.000 million euros in the next three years.

Campos has explained the opportunity what this recovery plan means for destinations and tourism companies, which in the case of Xàbia will serve to prepare a tourism sustainability plan at the destination; a strategic tool with which to shape the tourism management that has been developed in recent years and promote projects that contribute to innovation, tourism intelligence, better accessibility of the environment or greater resilience in the face of circumstances such as the pandemic.

Among the projects that could fit into this line of aid, the conversion of the Faro del Cap de Sant Antoni in an environmental interpretation center or the semi-pedestrianization and enhancement of the first Montañar.

The head of Turisme CV has also provided municipal officials with the data on aid granted to companies in the sector within the recovery actions for the pandemic and that in the case of Xàbia amounts to more than 274.000 euros that have already been paid to the beneficiaries.

Also, Campos has described this meeting as positive and pointed out that "Turisme y el Javea Town Hall We are going to work together to promote the Municipality's Destination Sustainability Plan. Jávea is already a sustainable destination, and this plan will shape and strengthen the governance of the municipality, promoting new accessibility, innovation and tourism intelligence projects. "

Also participating in the meeting was the mayor in charge of grant management, Montse VillaverdeAnd responsible for Tourism, Tony Miragall.

Who will provide sustainability, innovation and tourism intelligence, the bottles? Let them go at night to unleash the innovative political tabar to those who are partying in the street or to those who organize parties in the houses. Maybe that's how they get scared and start behaving like people.

  2. Ignacio says:

How is Jávea an already sustainable destination? Neither Jávea, Denia, Calpe, Ibiza, nor Venice nor any crowded tourist destination in the world is nor will it ever be. Sustainable mass tourism? That's impossible. To begin with, they define exactly the parameters to define a sustainable tourist destination. Tourism does not have anything of sustainability as it does not have any massive consumption of the product that is produced in a massive way with a great problem of waste management.
