Toni Miragall: "The analysis of the water at the Arenal beach is within the correct parameters"

06 June 2022 - 16: 16

During the weekend, Ecologists in Action was at the Arenal Beach alerting visitors and tourists not to bathe due to insufficient water quality due to a break in the emissary.

Faced with this social alarm, the councilor responsible for beaches, Tony Miragall, has explained that the result of the microbiotic analysis carried out a few days ago, by the town hall, confirms that the values are within normal parameters and there is no risk for bathers. Likewise, the mayor has specified that the analytical report verbatim reports that "the results are good, very good. Everything is in order within the regulations on water quality for bathing."

Response to Ecologists in Action

Miragall has continued to respond to each of the points that environmentalists have been reporting. Regarding the environmentalists' complaint that the level of enterococci exceeded the permitted limit, Miragall has stated that this value "depends on what type of analysis is involved and in this case, it is not a risk for bathers."

On the other hand, and before the request for the closure of this area of the beach, the councilor for beaches has assured that if it has not been closed "it is because after assessing the situation and the analytics neither the technicians nor the Ministry have considered it to be a danger for health" and added that "the brown color of the water is not faecal waste, as the group claims".

Miragall explained that the mixture between purified water and salt water produces that darker color, "in fact, since the break in the pipe was detected, more treatment is being given to the water that is purified".

As for the outfall repair works, these are scheduled to begin in the coming days. The works have already been awarded and the area of action has been defined.

municipal statement

Given the information issued on the alleged toxicity of the discharge generated by the submarine outfall in the Arenal Beach, the Department of the Environment and Beaches reports:

  • That both the Public Entity for Wastewater Sanitation (EPSAR) and the General Directorate for Water Quality, both official departments dependent on the Department of the Environment, have provided the City Council with various analyzes carried out on this beach in recent weeks and all are within the optimal parameters to allow bathing.
  • That this breakdown is being monitored, the repair of which has already been authorized and will begin in the next few days, and that at no time has any instruction been received on the need to close the beach from the agencies that are responsible for ensuring for the healthiness of the bathing waters.
  • That EPSAR ensures that the discharge is completely purified water and that, due to this fault in the outfall, it has even reinforced the purification processes at the plant to ensure that the discharge is harmless.
  • That the EPSAR will perform two weekly analyzes until the incident is resolved.
  • That the City Council itself commissioned an independent microbiology analysis (carried out on Wednesday, June 1) with samples from the place where the sand outfall broke. This test confirms that the results are good and within the bathing water quality regulations.

Finally, emphasize that the Xàbia City Council is the first interested in guaranteeing the safety of bathers, so that, in the event that the competent bathing water quality control body advises any preventive or informative measure, the I would take over immediately.

Look man, now Don José Chulvi, even has time to write (¿?)r (at least sign) ridiculous articles in LEVANTE EMV, singing the glories of the party he lives from. What a pity, Don José, in Xàbia, YES that any time was better, than this one that you offer us.

  2. Neighbor of Javea says:

Once I was with my friends in the Arenal taking a bath about 7 meters from the shore and suddenly a brown thing passed in front of my face since then I have not stepped foot in the waters of the Arenal.
The thing was quite big, it floated like a paper boat.

  3. Chulvista dictatorship says:

Censorship in Jávea is present, many comments are disappearing and this is what happens when those who are governing have the law of the dictatorship and censor comments that they know to be true, thus covering up Chulvi's corruption.

  4. indignant socialist says:

Chulvi doesn't even respect his companions- He goes out to be photographed to present any party program, any inconsequential act..., book launches, birthdays, etc. etc. etc. . But in serious matters, she disappears, no photo, no nothing...Send poor Miragall, to make a statement, for this yes...
No flies enter a closed mouth, trobe jo, right Jose?

  5. mario miller says:

    I don't believe anything, NOTHING

I remind you that the PSOE is famous for lying:
“We will never agree with Podemos, nor with Eta, nor with Nacionalistas” they said

Spain is now governed by all these people, thanks to the lies of the PSOE.

Do you believe anything they say?

    I do not.

  6. emilio echpare says:

Well, if you get to be in the seventies …
You found them in procession 😆😆

  8. Luis says:

» Regarding the environmentalists' complaint that the level of enterococci exceeded the permitted limit, Miragall has stated that this value «depends on what type of analysis it includes and in this case, it is not a risk for bathers»

With this ambiguous comment everything has been said, everything “depends” on the type of analysis….they are unpresentable cynics. The day that honest professionals with demonstrable experience and knowledge can access these public positions, instead of the current dynamic of plugging, that day will begin the construction of a better society for all.

  9. ARA XABIA says:

The alderman of platges, Antonio Miragall, was forced by the mayor to become the "Manuel Fraga" of Palomares, version of Xàbia, which does not passe res… but little political future. For those who do not know the story, I searched for: «Fraga Palomares» in Google, the photo that I had to say tot… ens missing the image of Miragall and the beach after Banyar-se, face that, who knows! The same Jose and he is banyen these days in l'Arenal to 'demonstrate' that he has not perill.

    • Vecino says:

I would like to know the tests where they have been done, whether on the shore or in the same place as the outfall, because they are two very different things: the one on the shore will be good, the one on the outfall will be contaminated.

      • IgnacioG says:

It is not only where, it is also who has done them and if they have really done them. .The tests are always "done" by cousins, brothers-in-law or "trusted companies" that is why they are always favorable even if they have not even done them. Paperet is signed and ouch!
