Tomás Sivera and Miguel Ángel García exhibit their sculptures in Marina de Dénia

Art in the open air. This is the idea that the Xàbia sculptor has launched, Antonio Mari, with the collaboration of Town hall de Dénia and the sponsorship of the sports and tourist port awards Marina de Denia. An event that shows the works of a total of nine artists from different locations exhibited by the sea. Among the sculptors are two residents of Xàbia, the artist Tomás Sivera and the sculptor, Miguel Ángel Miguel García. Both have made a sculpture that is already on display in the middle of the marina promenade.

Sivera, with Colp de Mar, a sculpture formed of stone and iron, symbolizes the marine environment. The painter from Xàbia points out to this editorial that he is very excited about the piece and the realization of this type of event. The artist mentioned the Mar d'Art, "About the year 2000 this type of exhibition began in Xàbia in the port of Xàbia, in which the artists exhibited their works outdoors. Now, 20 years later, it starts in Dénia and hopefully it will remain for many years".

For his part, Miguel Ángel Miguel García, has made a carved sculpture on a trunk. A pelican and two turtles are the protagonists of this work.

García has been satisfied with participating in this exhibition, "I was proposed and accepted. I thought it was a good idea, the fact that the works are outdoors and everyone can observe them is a way of bringing art to all audiences."

The organizer of the event, Antonio Marí, explained to this editorial that the sculptures will be exhibited throughout the summer and three prizes will be awarded that will be selected by a professional jury made up of Joan Castejón, Modesto Marí, Nicolás Merle and Gabriel Martínez.

Although the sculptures of Andrés Escrivá, Tomás Sivera, Kiko Torres, Teo San José, Miguel Ángel Miguel, Juan Caravaca, Salvador Mollà, José Antonio Ahuir and Navas are already in full swing for the visit of the entire public, in the next will be held the official inauguration next to the presentation of a catalog.

Excavations Santacreu with the transfer of sculptures and Malavita with the catering organization of the artists have also collaborated for this event.
