The Poble Nou de Benitachell hosted last Saturday the exciting and decisive end of the "Striped Super Cup of the Provincial Council of Alicante", which faced two titans of "will bo". Benidorm, league champion llargues, against Sella, champion of the league of "perxa".
The game started at 15 hours with a great success of attendance as expected in a municipality that enjoys a great hobby. The match, very close, was developed at the beginning of equal way with a few 0-2, 2-2, 4-4, 4-6, 7-7. However, at the last moment it was the red team of the Sella (Jesus, Quico, Piripi, David and Dani) who imposed his law and seniority in the form of perxa rising with the win by a result of 10 to 7.
Although the pilotaris of Benidorm ((Jose Luis, Vicente, Juan, Rafa, Paco, Navarro and Royo) gave everything and came to taste the fantasy of the triumph, finally the Sella took the long-awaited title after a successful season plagued of awards.
The trophies were presented by José Daniel Sanjuán, President of the Pilota Valenciana Federation (FPV), Josep Femenia, Mayor of Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Vicente Molines, FPV Vice President, Councilmen Toni Pérez and Vanessa Jaime, of Sella and Manolo Segarra, sports councilor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
"Poble Nou de Benitatxell is a benchmark in the preservation of this traditional sport. They have a great fan base, a town hall involved and one of the most active clubs in the Valencian Community"Said Vicent Molines, vice president of the Pilota Valenciana Federation.
Taking advantage of the numerous presence of fans to the 17: 30 hours the annual Assembly of the Long 2018 Modality was held in the new premises acquired by the town hall, Espai Multifuncional del Molí.
