Six 'squatted' houses in Xàbia to do business

August 04 from 2020 - 09: 12

A few weeks ago, the case of a family who had been unable to come to Xàbia on vacation due to being 'squatted' in their home, became known. After negotiations, the owners gave an economic amount to the 'squatters' to abandon it.

This story could be in an isolated case, but according to what has been known Xàbia.com For testimonies close to those affected, following a question asked by the Popular Party in the plenary session, there was not a 'squatting' but six, which have been registered in the municipality of Xabiero in order to obtain financial compensation.

The houses chosen by the group, supposedly organized, to carry out these 'squats', are large houses, with all kinds of services, located, most of them, in open residential areas: Partida Castellans, Cuesta San Antonio and Puig Molins They are some places where there is evidence of appropriation, a group of people, some of the private properties.

According to the data obtained by this means, the damages caused in the 'squatted' houses are of great cost, one of the owners coming to lose around 5.000 euros (3.000 euros that he paid to the squatters and 2.000 euros in damages).

The first 24 hours

The first 24 hours of illegal usurpation are essential to be able to act. Although in some of the actions of these houses in Xàbia, the change of padlock has been immediate, giving notice to the security forces of the entry of people to private property at the time of the usurpation, can prevent them from taking possession of it and we have to wait, years, for the legal route to determine the end of the Squat.

This issue only occurs in Spain, personally I will try to make the international press find out what is happening in our punished country. It is absolutely Kafkaesque that one has to pay to recover one's own good. It is unheard of, but it is the fruit of the destructive politics of some political party. I wish this was Italy and we could go to Don Corleone on duty to solve the problem.

  2. Francisco Javier Garde Fdez-Fontecha says:

Since when in a country you have been working your whole life to have a home and you go on vacation or take care of your grandparents and they occupy you. When politicians will realize that the law needs to be changed, that housing is a recognized asset and that this scourge must be ended before there is a disgrace on this issue.

  3. Carmen Scribe says:

    I know. Chulvi
do something about squats. In the Balearic Islands an order has been issued that empowers the Civil Guard to evict them. Why not here? Are we little?
It is a shame what happens in this country. Fix it NOW.
Another thing that is sorely needed in this wonderful town is street cleaning and garden arrangement. It seems that you do not love your town. It is completely neglected and if you do not worry about it, where do our taxes go?

  4. SoybeanTofuQuinoa says:

cowardly and anesthetized population ... a little honor and courage, please!

they take over your house and, instead of going in with everything to sink skulls, they are still paid to leave hahaha

    we deserve everything and more!

  5. Juan García Patiño says:

There are several urbanizations in JAVEA that have many months without light on their streets for various reasons, broken streetlights, stolen cables, lack of maintenance, etc. Mr. CHulvi, these many months of neglect on your part, we continue to pay for a service that we do not receive, in addition to running. physical physical risks our city council deceives us, sign up for a 10 Mr. Chulvi and learn from Benitachell because the abuse is fine.

  6. Juan García Patiño says:

This happens because our laws, all of them, are made for and by criminals like those we have in the government and in many municipalities and justice is already sold the silly soup, if not how it is explained that they occupy your house and take many months to return it to you.
I ask if it was that of a judge or a politician who would pass someone knows.

    • Suka says:

In that of a judge or a politician, they are already in charge of not squatting. For them, the laws are different than for other citizens.

  7. xabiero says:

This happens by having some politicians who only look for their interests and not for those of the street people, it does not matter if they are from the right to the left, they are all the same, they with private surveillance the majority and some with surveillance paid by all Spaniards (the pigtails who spoke so badly of the Civil Guard now have them at the door of their casoplon 24 hours a day) the Spanish do not deserve this.
