Active cases of COVID-19 are reduced in Xàbia and the region

There is a new decrease in the data provided by the Ministry of Health regarding the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic. In today's update, Friday, the registry of active cases has been significantly reduced in the last three days, both in Xàbia and in general throughout the Marina Alta region.

The Dénia Health Department, which corresponds to the entire region, has counted 215 new positive cases since the last update, data similar to the previous day in which 204 infections were registered. But despite this slight rebound, the number of active cases has decreased. Currently, the Marina Alta has 810 active cases compared to the 1002 that it registered last Tuesday.

At the moment, the Dénia Health Department counts 13.700 infections since the start of the pandemic. As for the accumulated incidence in 14 days in the Marina Alta, it continues to decrease, standing at 474,73 infections per 100.000 inhabitants compared to 587,25 last Tuesday.

Regarding the situation of Xàbia, the data from the latest report report a slight decrease in new infections, registering 41 new positives in the last three days, compared to 49 last Tuesday. In addition, the number of active cases in the town is also reduced from 206 (last Tuesday) to 178 today, Friday. Xàbia counts 2.152 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic and the incidence of the virus is reduced again one more day. From 735,29 infections per 100.000 inhabitants registered on Tuesday, it goes to 635,35. The descent is 100 points.

The bad news of this new update is marked by a new death in the region. A Calp neighbor has lost his life due to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in the Marina Alta to 205.
