The number of outbreaks reported in the Valencian Community has plummeted 78% since March 12 compared to the immediately previous period (between February 11 and March 11). The cases associated with these outbreaks have fallen by a similar proportion, 70%.
The collapse has been similar both in the workplace and in the social sphere (-75% and -74%), and more pronounced in education (-93%), as shown in the attached table.
Regarding the origin, it is confirmed again that the outbreaks associated with the social sphere continue in the first place, the vast majority in the context of family and / or friends' meetings.
Regarding territorial location, there are no major differences between the provinces of Valencia and Castellón (with a reduction of -75% and -69% respectively). The fall has been -87% in the province of Alicante.
Progress in the vaccination process and the additional measures to contain and control the pandemic adopted in the Valencian Community coincide in time with the improvement of these indicators.
These good figures are a reason for hope but, in the words of the Minister for Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, "you cannot lower your guard."
The flexibilization of measures that has come into force this Monday and that affects social gatherings, hotels and restaurants, sports activities and visits to residences for the immunized elderly "are the result of the effort, responsibility and sacrifice of all citizens, and of the admirable work of the health professionals. We all have to continue rowing in the same direction to stay on this path of stability. "
"We are facing an unprecedented collective challenge and individual behavior, as the pandemic is showing us, does not affect only those who do it, it affects us all, both for better and for worse," said Barceló.
