The Reading Club in valencià of the Municipal Library is created in Xàbia

November 18 from 2021 - 15: 12

The new reading club in valencià attached to the Public Library of Xàbia opens with the work The honey and the happiness from a writer with deep roots in the Marina Alta, Carme Miquel.

Literature fans will meet on December 13 at 18:30 p.m. in the Library of the Historic Center - which will be the headquarters of this club - to comment on this novel. There will be a presentation by the coordinators of the group, with an introduction to the author and the work read. Afterwards, space will be given to the comments of the different members, respecting the order of intervention and the time, which is the same for all and
everyone.

As explained from the Library, the group will meet once a month and the readings, at the beginning, will be proposed from the library itself based on the availability of available copies for loan. Then it will be the club members who choose them.

In this sense, the next title will be 'Matter of Brittany', by Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas, named by the Valencian Academy of the Writing Language of the Year 2020-201 and to which the Xàbia Library will dedicate a specific program next month.

The reading club in valencià has emerged as a result of the meeting with the writer Joan Carles Ventura who promoted the Xàbia Negra festival and who served to put Valencian-language readers in contact with cultural concerns.

If anyone is interested in joining, they can contact us by email: library@ajxabia.org

There is also another Spanish-language reading club that is based in the Duanes de la Mar Library (port).
