Health proposes for Christmas days a maximum of 10 people for family reunions

November 27 from 2020 - 00: 44

The Regional Minister for Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, stressed that "Only individual responsibility, that of each Valencian and Valencian, today more than ever, can open the door to a more endearing Christmas".

Barceló made these statements at the press conference held to report on the current epidemiological situation in the Valencian Community. The head of Valencian health has highlighted that in "This last week, 92% of the outbreaks of social origin came from family gatherings or with friends."

For Ana Barceló "There is something priority and fundamental: that alarming 92% must go down" and has explained that the Ministry "It will thoroughly analyze the data and, ensuring that health is ahead, will help ensure that this different Christmas, away from mass celebrations and large concentrations of people, does not lose its essence."

Ana Barceló explained that the Valencian Community has also made its contributions to the working group created by the Ministry and the autonomous communities with a view to the recommendations for these Christmas holidays. In this sense, "We consider that the limitation of 6 people should be maintained in social meetings. This limitation would be extended to 10 people on December 24, 25 and 31 and January 1, 5 and 6 in family meetings", the councilor has informed. Regarding mobility, the Valencian Community is in favor of a coordinated response with the rest of the autonomous communities, which should be made more flexible on the most important days.

The minister has indicated that "Our proposal involves not authorizing events in municipalities with alert levels 3 and 4 and recommending, in any case, static celebrations with controlled capacity".

Regarding cultural, sports, religious and catering, hotel and trade activities "We are in favor of maintaining the current regulation. In the case of the San Silvestre races, they should not be held", has stated Ana Barceló.
