Rotary Club Xàbia donates 4.000 euros to local schools

January 17 from 2023 - 17: 13

The Xàbia Rotary Club has delivered a total of 4.000 euros to the schools in the municipality so that they can be used in the event that any specific need of the students is detected that requires a quick and discreet response. The act was attended by the president of Rotary Xàbia, Fernando Ruiz and his management team, the Councilor for Education, Montse Villaverde and the directors of the centers.

The money, raised in a Solidarity Tasting of beers and complemented by a donation from Banco Mediolanum, has been distributed among the six schools in the town: CEIP Arenal, CEIP Port, CEIP Mediterranean, CEIP Graüll, CEIP Trenc d'Alba and CEIP María Inmaculada.

But the schools also have a private subsidy? I thought, that they worked on account of my taxes, among those of the other taxpayers. How is it possible that public institutions admit private donations? How is that declared? To whom are they accountable? And what are my taxes spent on?
