Civil Protection The Poble Nou of Benitatxell has celebrated its tenth anniversary with a big party at the new headquarters of the group attended by family and friends, Civil Protection groups and councilors and mayors from across the region, representatives of various emergency bodies and the entire government team.

10 years ago that this local group was created in the municipality to work "selflessly for the people" stressed the Councilor for Security, María José Ivars, and the mayor, Miguel Ángel García. Ivars conveyed to the volunteers his most sincere admiration for the work and passion that they put on him every day. “Today we want to remember the immense debt we have with you, convey all the admiration we have for you and, of course, guarantee you all the support of this session and all the neighbors of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. You have been taking care of us for ten years and we want you to continue doing it for at least a hundred more years. ”He said.

For his part, the mayor described in four words his feelings towards the collective. “What can I say about all the time you dedicate, the emotion with which you serve and the desire with which you do it? How can I describe all that effort, dedication and sacrifice? The words that come to mind are admiration, thanks, support and pride. ”said Garcia.

Later, García required the presence of the head of the group, Arturo Esteve, to deliver a commemorative plaque for ten years, as well as the keys to his new headquarters 'El Puig', located in the Cumbre del Sol urbanization. Ten years, they will finally have a base of operations appropriate to their needs and with enough space to house the vehicles and the necessary equipment for their interventions.

Esteve did not want to miss the opportunity to thank all the support received during these years. Therefore, he made special mention to Josefa Ronda, who in his tenure as mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell promoted the creation of Civil Protection in the municipality at 2009, and the current councilor, María José Ivars, for making the anniversary party possible and work hard to give them their new headquarters. Both received a bouquet of flowers as thanks.

Also, the current mayor, Miguel Ángel García, received a commemorative plaque; the promoter and chief coordinator of the group, Vicent Bolufer; the Lions Club charity, which has made significant donations of material to Civil Protection, and private benefactor Jan Kelders.

The event also featured the reproduction of some videos, including two drills and various thanks and congratulations cuts from neighbors of the municipality and members of the Local Police. Afterwards, all attendees accompanied the volunteers with a brotherhood meal.
