Civil Protection volunteers in Xàbia carried out a total of 2000 hours of service to the municipality this year. This information was presented by the members of the group this Friday during an end-of-season dinner, which was attended by the mayor, Rosa Cardona, the councilor for Citizen Protection, Juan Ortolá, as well as the deputy head of the Group, Rafael Bisquert, the chief mayor of the Local Police, José Antonio Monfort, and the lieutenant of the Civil Guard, Juan Carlos López.
The almost fifty volunteers toasted another year of dedication to caring for our forests and also for their work as reinforcement of the Local Police in preventive acts and in numerous sporting and cultural events.
At the dinner, the councilor and the mayor thanked the dedication of all the volunteers and announced their intention to reinforce the material means available to the group, something that will be reflected in next year's budgets.
