From November 4 to 6, Xàbia will celebrate a new edition of the Xàbia Negra Festival. A cultural festival formed around the noir novel in which different meetings of authors and readers concentrate with the purpose of sharing and enjoying their passion for this genre.
In addition to literature, in Xàbia Negra there is room for other artistic manifestations related to the black genre such as cinema, performing arts or music.
In the 5th edition that is celebrated this 2022, the programming for this festival is as follows:
Viera de Noviembre 4
- 17:30 hours: Reading club 'NOTHING IMPORTANT' (in Spanish) with Mónica Rouanet at the Public Library of the Historic Center.
- 19:00 hours: High Navy Crimes with Teresa Dominguez. Presents: Bernardo Carrión at the Xábia House of Culture
- 20:00 hours: Meeting with authors. 'Add fuel to the fire' with Mónica Rouanet, Jerónimo Tristante and Blas Ruiz. Presents: Santiago Álvarez at the Xàbia House of Culture
- 22:30 hours: Noir monologue. 'Stories that tell...' with Domingo Chinchilla at the Taverna malabrasa.
Saturday November 5
- 11:00 hours: 'MONUMENTAL' reading club (In Valencian) with Jordi Colonques and Joan Canela at the Duanes de la Mar Public Library.
- 12:00 noon: Literary vermouth. 'Talk like never before' with Jerónimo Tristante, Teresa Domínguez, Alicia Giménez Bartlett, Vicente Garrido, Nieves Abarca, Salva Alemany, Mónica Rouanet and Santiago Álvarez at Restaurante Sotavent.
- 13:00 hours: Presentation 10th anniversary of Exquisite Crimes with Vicente Garrido and Nieves Abarca at Restaurante Sotavent.
- 19:00 p.m.: Four Hand Noir Literature with Vicente Garrido, Nieves Abarca, Jordi Colonques and Joan Canela. Presents Bernardo Carrión at the House of Culture of Xàbia
- 20:00 hours: WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS WITH ALICIA GIMÉNEZ BARTLETT AND SALVADOR ALEMANY. PRESENTS: SANTIAGO ÁLVAREZ at the Xàbia House of Culture
- 20:50 hours: Characters off the pages with Inma Sancho at the Xàbia House of Culture.
- 22:30 hours Concert Neo-Soul, Jazz, Funk and Reggae duo with Key Day & Enric Crespo at Manuelita Restobar.
Sunday 6 Noviembre
- 12:00 p.m. Battle of Writers. Narrative Performance with Mónica Rouanet, Salva Alemany, Nieves Abarca, Joan Canela and Jordi Colonques at the Xàbia House of Culture.
- 13:00 hours: Delivery of 'La Criminala' award with Alicia Giménez Bartlett at the Xàbia House of Culture
- 13:15 p.m.: Xàbia Negra Express short film contest. Viewing of finalists and awards ceremony. Collaborates School of Cinema Riurau. In the House of Culture of Xàbia
