Xàbia presents this Friday the book The somni americà against the caciquisme and the fil·loxera. The event will be hosted in the House of Culture, this Friday, December 17, at 19:XNUMX p.m. and admission is free.
The book is an essay by journalist Juli Esteve that addresses the migratory movement to the United States carried out by more than 15.000 Valencians between 1906 and 1920.
The 356-page publication is edited by InfoTV and puts an end to the investigative work that served to produce the documentary series Del Montgó a Manhattan and Valencians a Nova York (2012-2015). The book is aimed above all at people interested in the history of our troubled and intense XNUMXth century; and to the thousands and thousands of Valencian families who then had to emigrate to North America; or to Argentina, Cuba, Algeria, Australia or in a European country. It tells its story and its stories and is a tribute to the brave gesture of so many Valencians to get out of misery.
