La House of Culture de Xàbia hosts the presentation of the novel The Pan American of the Chilean writer and documentary filmmaker, Santiago Elordi. This presentation will be in charge of the actor Carlos Talaverón and will take place on Friday 11 of October, at 21 hours.

The Panamericana, a novel that receives its name from the route that crosses America from Alaska to Patagonia, is the author's third publication under the seal of La Huerta Grande, Spain.

It narrates the adventures of Vicente Concha, a Chilean traveler who flees from himself during the eighties, but who will see his life transformed after a peculiar encounter on a dock in the Colombian Amazon. He will then meet the three: an Argentine girl and drug addict, Ivonne; an old Mexican hippie, Jerónimo; and a Peruvian mix of gay dandy and lumpen, Max, belonging to the border genre.

La Panamericana is an initiatory journey novel. It is made up of a kind of travel diary, the realistic chronicle and the exuberant imagination, which at times makes it difficult to distinguish whether what is read is fantasy or the crudest reality of a continent.

Written from an uncertain area, some reviews begin to define this novel as a renovating space for Latin American narrative. The description of the landscapes, the passage through the villages and even the plastic bags that the wind lifts on the banks of the route are interpreted as the keys to a trip that inaugurates a new Latin American epic. "America has not yet been discovered", thus begins one of its chapters.
