El Portal de la Marina Shopping Center, owned by Lar España Real Estate Socimi and managed by Grupo Lar through Gentalia, launches the second Kilometers Solidarity challenge. This action begins on October 8 and ends on October 31, and with it the center undertakes to finance the costs derived from decorating the Psychiatric Hospitalization Room of the Dénia Hospital upon reaching the goal of traveling 40.000 km.
After the success of the solidarity challenge launched in 2020, with which it was possible to travel 10.000 kilometers in just 6 days, Portal de la Marina repeats action. But this time they multiply by four the objective for a greater cause: to fill the walls of the corridors of the Hospital de Dénia with creativity and positivism. And for this they will have the Valencian artists Sucri and Furyo (Alicia López and Antonio Santoyo) both specialists in murals.
To participate in the challenge, each interested runner must register their kilometers traveled within the free Strava application before October 31, specifically in the challenge created by the center "We run together for mentally ill patients." In this way, all the participants who want to can contribute their bit. Because every kilometer counts, and the sum of all will make possible the change of the mural in the corridors of the hospital.
According to Virginia Carrasco, director of Portal de la Marina: "We know the importance of the environment in people's mood and we want to improve the stay of patients in the mental health ward of the Hospital." The director also affirms: "we understand that it is an ambitious challenge, but after the great participation of the previous one, we trust in the collaboration of all to reach an objective that excites us".
