This past Monday, a meeting convened by the Popular Party took place at the local Loreto Festival Commission in which it was explained to the fifty attendees how the modification of the coast regulations will affect.
The spokesperson for the PP of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, positively values the meeting, "because the residents of the municipality affected by the changes that are intended to be carried out, are now aware of the situation in which the Xabiera coast, their homes and their businesses are".
From the PP they have been very grateful to the Association of Platges Nord de Dénia for having explained the problem in the first person, the causes and consequences of the demarcation of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, as well as everything that has been done and everything that remains to be done.
As a result of the meeting and discovering the problem, the affected neighbors are joining together to form an Association of Xàbia residents affected by the modification of the Coast Regulations.
After the presentations of Rosa Cardona, spokesperson for the Popular Party of Xàbia and the members of the Association of Platges Nord de Dénia, it was concluded that the priorities are:
- Restore the flow of sediments, regenerate and maintain the coastline of Xàbia, naturally or artificially, with the contributions that are not reaching the sea so that they fulfill their function of protecting the coast.
- Paralyze the approval of the new modification of the Coastal regulations, especially regarding the new criteria that will be implemented for the delimitation of the public domain, and which are the following:
- That the delimitation of the public domain is fixed in the space as far as the sea wave has reached only once.
- That the possibility of revising boundaries towards the sea is eliminated if waves have not reached an area in 50 years.
- That the references to the works of conservation, repair or improvement of the works that remain within the DMPT are eliminated.
- That the promenades ceased to be a fixed border of the sea shore.
- That the constructions will be left out of planning and must apply for a concession for a maximum period of 75 years and will become the public property of the state.
- And even so, no concessions or extensions will be granted to works that may have a certain risk of being reached by the sea.
- Require the Ministry of Ecological Transition to comply with its powers of Coasts and Marine Environment to carry out the execution of regeneration and maintenance projects on the Xàbia coast.
- That the administrative concession be eliminated as a means of compensation for being affected by easements and public domain and that there be financial compensation.
- That the towns and historical, traditional and consolidated nuclei, such as the Barrio de Triana and the Paseo.
