This weekend the last scoring round of the pen mountain bike Marathon of the Valencian Community in the municipality of Siete Aguas. In this test, Adelino Moll, was third and Alicia Margalejo finished in the second position in the Elite category.
The Cycling Club of Seven Waters prepared a route of seventy kilometers and one thousand six hundred meters of positive slope, but due to the rains that fell in the days before the race, they were forced to cut six kilometers.
We had to cut the path through the mud
The amount of mud accumulated in certain areas prevented the passage of bicycles. Even so, the layout had very fast trails of low technical difficulty and track sections that pleased the bikers.
The runners of the Xàbia's Bike-Fastwear, Adelino Moll and Alicia Margalejo, were very calm before departure. Adelino escaped with two runners, but on the first descent he suffered a flat tire that prevented him from continuing in the fight for victory, finishing third in the standings.
On the other hand, Alicia remained in the top flight for the first kilometers, but was forced to lift her foot due to muscle problems, getting into the finish line as second classified in Elite Women and third overall.
