Podem Xàbia is committed to a remunicipalization of services that will provide economic savings

November 15 from 2018 - 10: 25

As they announced last week, Podem Xàbia held its Assembly last Saturday with a single point to discuss, the remunicipalisation of waste collection services and cleaning of public roads in Xàbia. Among the attendees was Rubén Martínez, who aspires to be president of the Comunitat Valenciana on the part of Podemos.

The advantages of implementing this direct management from the Town hall They were exposed by Borja Iborra, lawyer and mayor for Podemos in Mutxamel, where, as indicated by the xabiera formation, "These services are beginning to be managed by the town hall of this Alicante town."

Iborra added that Xàbia's commitment to remunicipalisation would mean: Less spending in this section of budgets, more immediate, quick and effective management and better working conditions for workers.

The purple formation indicates that Borja Iborra previously studied the statutes of AMJASA and sees perfectly feasible a waste management by this municipal company, "even more, after a ruling by the Constitutional Court in favor of a lawsuit filed by Unidos Podemos, according to which remunicipalised service workers do become public employees."

Comparison of xabiero spending with other municipalities

Iborra also compared the expenditure for this section of Xàbia (more than 6 million €) with that of Mutxamel, which has a number of inhabitants similar to Xàbia, (1,7 million, which he described as clearly insufficient) and with that of Elche (almost 10 times more inhabitants and 5 times more surface) that spends 22,5 million € and has a very effective service.
