'Small steps' of the IES Antoni Llidó in the great challenge of caring for the planet

27 2021 April - 06: 24

The IES Antoni Llidó begins its journey as coordinator of the Erasmus + project entitled 'Little green steps, big global changes'. Through small actions, it intends to take small steps to take care of the planet by attending to four main axes: energy, recycling, water and transport.

Erasmus + projects are not only aimed at university or training cycle students, but also secondary school students are given the opportunity to participate in exchanges with one or more educational centers in Europe, working on a specific topic, learning about other cultures and practicing at the same time the languages they learn.

As the planned exchange to the Landeck district, in Austrian Tyrol, could not be carried out due to the restrictions caused by COVID-19, the Xàbia and Landeck partners have turned the face-to-face exchange into a virtual mobility that has enthusiastic to the participants of both educational centers.

The conferences, which took place last week, specifically, between April 20 and 23, had the participation of 10 students of 3rd year of ESO from IES Antoni Llidó who shared experiences and environmental proposals with their 10 classmates and companions from Austria.

The collaborative work of logo design, proposals for environmental improvement and design of an app on ecological footprint, has been done through different platforms and computer tools, which have put the digital competence of the participating students to the test.

Hopefully, in the fall of 2021, the Xàbia participants will be able to visit the Austrian Tyrol, meet their colleagues personally, as well as other ways of recycling, as highlighted by the mayor, José Chulvi, in the video of welcome to the participants, which he had the detail to send to inaugurate the Erasmus + conference last Wednesday, April 21, showing his support for the project.
