29 2022 April - 19: 30

The cyclist from Xàbia, Pablo Ivars, will be part of the Spanish expedition that will represent Spain in the Deaflympics of Brazil, the deaflympics that will be held from May 1 to 15 in Caxias Do Soul. This worldwide event brings together athletes with hearing disabilities, where more than 100 countries and 6.000 athletes will participate.

Ivars, who will compete in cycling, will be present in the individual time trial, route and scoring modalities on May 4, 6 and 8 respectively.

The cyclist tells us that "it is a great pride to be able to represent Spain and I thank the Spanish Federation for having me. After many years of effort and that I could not be present in the previous games of 2017 for personal reasons despite having been selected, now I have the opportunity to enjoy this experience".

The cyclist from Xàbia states that the Spanish expedition did a good job last year in the European that was held in Turkey, "where all the colleagues who participated from Spain was our debut at the international level. Now we arrive at a good time but we must not forget that getting here is the highest aspiration for all cyclists and there are very strong countries like France, the USA and Japan with professional cyclists and that have exclusive dedication to this sport".

Ivars points out that being his first participation in these games, "my goal is to enjoy this experience and give myself 100% in each test. I hope to be able to live up to it and repay the confidence that the Federation has had in me".
