Before the approval of the municipal budgets in the plenary session yesterday in the Javea Town Hall, the Popular Party has issued this writing:
After four years of absence of a municipal budget, since 2017 the Xàbia corporation did not have the opportunity to debate, expose and argue the lines of the socialist government of Xàbia, which has its maximum exponent in the annual budget. Four years in which the accounts are debated through the imposition of credit modifications, which as the norm provides; they are promoted from the order of the mayor and are imposed in a plenary session with an absolute socialist majority.
How this disappointing 2022 budget has been conceived is due to the policy that the socialist government of Xàbia has been exercising, from one day to the next - in this case from one week to the next - the participatory councils, the exhibitions in the house of the culture and participation in strategic projects by the entire local corporation of Xàbia.
The 2022 budget imposed by an absolute socialist majority; It is a document simply for processing, procedural, continuous, with a lack of aspirations and with no awareness of the needs of Xàbia. Some
budgets made by technicians with a total absence of political ideas. Since October 2020, the regulations that allow municipalities to undertake expansive budgets have been relaxed, without the legislative limitations that hampered investment proposals. However, it was decided to extend the 2017 budget and continue accumulating funds in the municipal coffers, until this year a remainder – reserves – from previous years of 36,70 million euros leveraged in banks with the sole purpose of accumulating and generating expenses, only in bank commissions for the leverage of the funds, for this year it is planned to spend 150.000 euros and the year in the past it was budgeted for the same thing close to double. In the arithmetic of the sum and continues we have to add what will be left over this 2021 that if the calculations are confirmed there will be around another 6 / 7 million euros that will go to these savings that only generate expenses.
Therefore, a government that manages more than 40 million euros of savings, the only investment that it presents in the 2022 project – is the municipal swimming pool – which will be partly financed by the Generalitat Valenciana. This is
all the socialist aspiration through the budgets for this coming year. Faced with financial immobility, against the socialist maxim of doing nothing and thus you will not be wrong - the popular party calls for investments that generate a better quality of life for the people who live in Xàbia and that have repercussions on the local economy, in eliminating obstacles to the entrepreneurial initiatives of the neighbors, in attracting investments and in opening the range to other productive and economic models. In short, to facilitate the management and execution of facilities to create entrepreneurship so that young people and families prosper.
It is essential to undertake a sports investment plan as a tool to revitalize youth, Xàbia is one of the municipalities with the lowest ratio per inhabitant of sports facilities in the Valencian Community, with the covered Frechinal pavilion, recover projects that are paid for and subsidized to revitalize the historic center; the Central Cinema or Casa Candelaria with more than just propping up the roof.
The municipal patrimony has to stop being unproductive, for this reason it is necessary to undertake social housing for young people, during this legislature the socialist government ceded the VPO plots located in the Montaner park
to the Public Housing Institute for its inability to undertake a social housing project. Remember that the PP undertook the last social housing project on Via Augusta in 2007. Nothing is said about the repair
of the parking lot of the Plaza de la Constitución to enable all the squares, neither of the second municipal escoleta, nor of the rural roads.
Study the audits and repair projects of the lighting network in the municipality, the current lighting network is in a sorry state and the only urbanization that will be able to have street lighting
account of the municipal coffers will be the El Tosalet Urbanization and not by the will of the socialist government, but by a Ruling that obliges the city council to spend 2,8 million euros in an urbanization in which people who can afford a high-level lawsuit reside in front of the City Hall to have a service that corresponds to them.
What about the neighborhoods or urbanizations that cannot afford a lawsuit of such magnitude; they simply have no right to anything.
This budget is more of the same, there is no minimum agreement or set priorities, commitments are applied by law or by sentence and it lacks any political initiative, the initiatives will come from the
occurrence of the Lord Mayor, who by way of the modification of Credit and I quote verbatim the norm: They will be initiated by order of the Mayor, he will impose on us what he considers important.
A clear example are the items of the remainder affected by projects that come out of the laboratory of the socialist government of Xàbia, such as the proposal to build a walk in the first mountain, of which no one has seen and which was sold as if it would be the result of an international comxicotetion of ideas and which would be agreed upon by the affected neighbors. The idea is unique; that is to say of the government of Xàbia and once approved and executed the only thing they will have

The opposition are all talk and no teeth. They had ample opportunity in the Council meeting to propose amendments but sat on their hands. They prefer to make statements in the press.

Thank you very much for this very useful information, now I realize why most of the streets and highways in Jávea are in such terrible condition, without lighting in many of the streets, something unacceptable in this century. With a government that only knows how to save money because it does not have the capacity to develop infrastructure, which is one of the urgent things that we need. Therefore, if they don't spend that money, the best thing is that they return it to the taxpayers because that money is to improve our quality of life and if they don't know how to do it, they return it to us or they resign.
