Those days that are not recognized as holidays, but that the neighbors celebrate as if they were and are the days in which more troops are needed to guarantee citizen security... Or what should be the salary of a policeman when he requisitions weapons to an individual. Having adequate material to work with, some new dependencies, that is not part of the remuneration of a worker.
Of the 89 budgeted places, we only have 56 active police officers, among which the infinite tasks assigned to them by law are distributed every day, as well as ensuring citizen security in three daily shifts. Being able to protect a municipality without enough police and respond to all tasks, is a merit that we recognize the Local Police Chief.
How did we get to this situation? Why do we have few cops? There have been many casualties and places have not been offered since 2012, there are those who are in a C1 group when they should be in group B; They collect salaries that do not correspond to the risks and services they provide and, being so few, there is nothing left to do overtime to make up for the lack of police and attend all municipal services. Well, given this situation, it now turns out that overtime cannot be paid.
Many policemen have already made a decision but places are offered, salaries are regulated and overtime is paid. The police officers choose to go to work in other municipalities that have solved these problems and meanwhile we run out of police.
The reorganization of personnel was a challenge of the socialist municipal government in the previous legislature and was not achieved. Now between laws, reports and agreements taken, in the end the solution of the municipal government is to develop the Relationship of Jobs (RPT), claimed by officials and politicians too long ago.
The implementation of the RPT will still have to go through the entire bidding, drafting, awarding process and someday apply it, with the uncertainty that it will not be contested ... a fact that will further extend the difficult situation of the officials.
The proposal of some technicians and civil servants is the modification of the Regulation of operation of the official personnel of the Town hall. This regulation, which needs to be adapted to the needs of officials, has already been modified in other matters and is an alternative to regulate the situation of all city council officials.

The Popular proposes that we do not close doors or discard any option to regulate the situation; and that while the RPT is being processed, progress can be made in modifying the regulations and solving the public employment offer of 2018 and 2019, which is already under repair and without bases.
Any worker must receive a salary according to their work, this favors productivity and the person's performance, so we hope that the procedures are expedited to ease the burden of overtime, not to collect them and continue to guarantee the safety of Xàbia.
