Works of art made with plastics to prevent it from ending up at sea

11 December 2019 - 14: 34

Artworks made with plastics to prevent it from ending up at sea. This has been the goal of the Tapis de Xàbia users when preparing the projects for their next exhibition. With the help of its monitor, Alicia Ripoll, and several collaborating professors, Tapis users have carried out an artistic project that will raise public awareness.

It's about the exhibition “Aquests plàstics will not end at sea”, a sample that will be inaugurated on December 12, at 20 hours, at the Center "Al Pati" of Jesus Pobre and in which they have been working for almost a year. The works can be visited until the January 12.

With this exhibition we want, not only to demonstrate the plastic talent of the users, who day by day surprise us with their artistic gifts, but also as a complaint and call for attention against the excessive use of plastics.

The monitor explains that when the opportunity arose to expose Jesus Poor they began to think about a topic to focus the work, "and the students themselves proposed to do something that would serve to raise awareness of plastic pollution."

They began to collect all kinds of packaging and by the hand of their plastic teacher, Anna Perles, they have managed to turn it into a beautiful and artistic product that claims the sea. A result of which they are very proud.
