New wave of robberies in Xàbia: four homes assaulted in the same night

May 21 from 2023 - 08: 56

The scattered areas of the municipality of Xàbia continue to be the focus of thieves. The number of broken-in houses continues to grow and the feeling of insecurity increases among the residents.

This week there have been four new robberies, in the same night, in a rural area of Xàbia, in Los Cerezos. Four houses that the assailants entered in order to take small items of value such as jewelry or cash, the only loot they are looking for according to victims of these assaults, which can be carried in their own pockets and sold quickly.

On this occasion, and according to residents of the affected area, the robberies occurred at dawn, between 1:00 and 4:00. The robbers usually take advantage of the absence of the tenants of the houses to access through a window or door with simple locks, although the fact that the house has bars, an alarm or a camera does not scare them either. But on this occasion, in two of the assaulted houses, their tenants remained inside sleeping.

In a property, the friends of the alien accessed through a tilting open window. Apparently, as they have denounced, they took jewelry while the occupants slept, luckily without any other incident.

In another of the robberies, as the neighbors explain, one of the thieves tried to block the kitchen window, the owners woke up, turned on the lights and pressed the alarm button. The thieves fled.

And despite the fact that local police officers and the Civil Guard went to the area, the four robberies leave a feeling of insecurity among the neighbors. A situation that is repeated, in the same way, in the Montgó, Les Valls and Tossals area, where the wave of robberies has continued in recent weeks.

The residents of the rural areas of Xàbia ask for more surveillance, more police presence to combat and stop this wave of robberies. Likewise, and in view of these facts, the residents study what measures to put in place and work together to try to sound the alarm in any suspicious situation.

Lots of things don't make sense here. The thieves and robbers get off scot free. Punishment does not seem to exist for these low life. Yet the law is quick enough to come down on the motorist and law abiding citizens. Its time Spain caught up with the rest of the world. Its 2023 not 1823. We should be able to protect our properties whether that's using CCTV or not, we should have the freedom to choose. We should be able to retaliate if we are attacked on the street or at home. But if we do, we are in trouble. Sort it out!

  2. MP says:

    You are right
In my house they have robbed and all the time I put the gate and the one who is in jail is me instead of the thieves

  3. Vecino says:

Indeed, the problem is fundamental, it is not only the level of tolerance but also the level of protection that squatters and all kinds of criminals enjoy. But, watch out! that half of Spain votes for PSOE, Podemos, Compromis, Sumar, etc., so it seems that half the country agrees with this state of affairs, and with the legal changes that make it possible. I only wish them to squat their house, that their children get hormonal without telling them, and that they enjoy the whole progressive package that the parties they vote for bring us. If they vote for them, it's because it's not a problem for them, so that's great.

Ask Chulvi why we are running out of municipal police, maybe he hasn't found out that the police are not eternal, some change towns and others retire, so the workforce has to be replaced every year.

  5. It's not necessary says:

And meanwhile they put surveillance cameras on the garbage containers, to denounce us if we do not make proper use of them.
And it is not possible to put surveillance cameras at accesses to certain areas. Someone will tell me that you cannot monitor indiscriminately in a public place…. But the container area is public and is monitored.
You just have to notify that it is video-surveilled...
It is clear that this is not the solution, but something will have to be done...
At the local level our politicians are not looking for a solution. Or they don't know. Or they don't care... Maybe that doesn't get votes.
Our local police seem to be more interested in making complaints and making life more difficult for us instead of helping the citizen.
We only have the Civil Guard left, which also has limited resources.
In the end, we only have to worry about ourselves, be aware, watch, be careful... let's not expect anything from our politicians. They are on other things..
For now, smile for the camera when you throw out the trash. It's the only thing left for us to go.

  6. Joan Llobell says:

There is a lot of Civil Guard missing in Xàbia. Politicians fault.

  7. luisa says:

Chulvi, about the insecurity of Jávea I did not hear you speak in Fitur.
His thing is to have a laugh with the photos and get paid every month, right?

  8. Chulvi you have a week left says:

Who would have thought that without police officers in Jávea, insecurity would grow. A crazy thing, hey.

  9. MARTA says:

The policy of occupying, that nothing happens, steals, that nothing happens, gives rise to this. The local police happen a lot, they say it's a civil guard thing. The civil guard says if you report it, it is worth little. If they are caught the next day they are on the street, you have to pay a lawyer and since you are not insolvent, you can't even get paid for the damages they did to you.
The law is made in favor of those who occupy and steal.

It will do more than ever, it is necessary to change the laws and bring order. Whoever occupies, instantly out, whoever steals, to jail. We would see how they would get to work and respect other people.
