A few months ago a Great holiday rental scam in which there were more than 40 families, from all over Spain, affected. Many of them had chosen houses of our coast to spend their vacations but they were left without them being fraudulent ads.
On this occasion we present a new case. A resident of Valencia, a few months ago, saw through social networks, the advertisement for the rental of a villa in Dénia, at the foot of Montgó, at an affordable price. She contacted the supposed owner and made the reservation for the next month of July 2020. To confirm it, the client had to make a deposit as a deposit and also signed a contract.
So far, nothing made the client think that something was going to go wrong, but according to the affected, once the paperwork was done, the owner stopped answering the messages, "Then I called and the phone number no longer existed, from there I began to investigate", indicates the scammed.
He immediately filed the complaint and has learned that the house she had reserved was not for rent, but for sale through a real estate portal. Given this fact, the true owner of the house had no record of anything. Apparently, the scammer, as the victim has learned, is domiciled in Xàbia, took advantage of the published photos of the sale to place the false announcement.
The affected one hopes to be able to recover her deposit and that the security forces manage to find the scammer, since at the moment it is unknown if there are more families in the same situation with this case.
