Notable increase in infections in Xàbia

The new update of data on the evolution of the coronavirus in the municipalities provided by the Ministry of Health shows an increase in infections in Xàbia and in the region, adding, the Dénia Health Department, 16 new positives in just three days.

It is not that it is an alarming figure, but it is outstanding, taking into account that of the 16, half, that is, 8 correspond to the town of Xàbia, after it was 15 days without registering new infections. Thus, Xàbia registers a total of 1.450 positive cases since the pandemic began, of which 10 are active at the moment. The accumulated incidence doubles in this town, since it amounts to 36,23 cases per 100.000 inhabitants compared to the 18,11 cases that it counted the previous day.

With regard to the situation in the Marina Alta, there has been a slight rebound in new infections compared to the data from the previous update. On this occasion, 16 cases have been added compared to 5 last Tuesday, 11 more.

In this way, the total of positives confirmed by PCR test in the Dénia Health Department amounts to 9.827, with 40 active. The cumulative incidence stands at 23,29 infections per 100.000 inhabitants, remaining at a low risk level.

On the other hand, the region has registered a new death, which brings to 201 deaths from coronavirus registered since March 2020.
