The Moors and Christians festivities of Xàbia resume their pulse after two years of paralysis due to the health situation. The next sábado 19 de febrero, the filaes will rekindle the festive flame with the celebration of its traditional Mig Any.
This closing of the cycle and kick-off to a new festive edition, acquires a greater relevance this year since
that the last act that the great festive family of Xàbia celebrated, before the pandemic, was this one in February
of 2020 kicking off a celebration that could not be. Hence, this day is especially significant
for the Mora and Cristiana Flag Bearers 2020-2022, Lucía Llidó Vallés and Carla Llidó Bertolín and for the Filà Ballesters, Captaincy 2022; who have not stopped representing the xabiera party wherever they have been required and, now, lead their respective sides until the long-awaited parties in July.
The Mig Any Fester has been programmed following the usual structure. This year, the event that will arouse the greatest emotion will be the Informal entrance scheduled at 13:00 p.m. since it will mean the return of the incomparable Moorish marches and Christian pasodobles to the streets of Aduanas del Mar.
As usual, the rows will depart from the emblematic arcade of Pius X to mark the pace and return the color to the seafaring nucleus. The usual brotherhood lunch and dinner will also be held. Two meetings that will follow the current health regulations in the spaces selected for this purpose. In both cases, the attendees must have their updated vaccination certificate.
