This past Sunday, the expected Trinidad Alfonso Marathon took place in Valencia. A test of 42 km that was last held, jointly, with that of the 10K. This race focused all eyes on whether or not there was a world record. And we can say that there was thanks to the effort made by the Ugandan athlete, Joshua Cheptegei, who stopped the clock in 26.38, lowering the previous record in 6 seconds.

Regarding the athletes of the Marina Alta, the fastest in this distance was Moha Rida Younes, who made a time of 31.01 at an average of 3.06 the kilometer. The athlete, belonging to Llebeig Athletics Club Xàbia, once again demonstrated the quality it treasures.

Moha ended up on the podium as second in his M35 category, although he entered the 39 position of the general classification. Very close to this xabiero was his friend, Youssef Ahatach, of the Athletics Club Baleària Diànium that entered the 41 position of the general with an 31.22 mark, half an kilometer from 3.08.

With Moha, six more athletes from the Llebeig Athletics Club participated in this 10k event including Kika Buigues who entered the finish line with Madelane.

In the Marathon test, once again, participation record was broken, more than 20.000 people toured the streets of Valencia. Again the record of the previous edition was pulverized. On this occasion the winner was the Ethiopian runner, Atanaw Alayew. In women his compatriot, Roza Dereje, was the best getting another new test record.
