The professor, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Valencia, Juli Peretó will take advantage of the publication of his latest book 'A creative planet: how life began on Earth and how we will make it in the laboratory', (Uránea), to talk about the origin of life on our planet.

The talk will take place on Friday, March 17, at 19:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Soler Blasco Museum de
Xàbia.

The presentation will be based on the transition from geochemistry to biochemistry that occurred on Earth some 4000 billion years ago. How was the chemistry of the early planet organized into systems capable of obtaining matter and energy from the environment and making more copies? And how did these simple biological systems unfold to generate so much biodiversity? The difficulties of the scientific study on the origin of life are fabulous, since we do not know most of the details of what the planet was like at that time, and we barely have remains of the most primitive cells.

The classic proposals of Oparin and Haldane, almost a century ago, removed speculation and opened the way for scientific studies.
