More than 3000 students will start their classes in Xàbia next Monday with several new features

02 September 2019 - 16: 04

The Xàbia primary and secondary schools will start next 9 Monday, the school year in the different public and concerted centers in the town. In total, 1954 will be children and primary school students who will be distributed as follows:

419 at the Graüll school, 433 at the CEIP Vicente Tena, 219 in the CEIP Trenc d'Alba, 221 in the Port of Xàbia, 440 in l'Arenal and 222 in the María Inmaculada concerted center.

On the other hand, the Department of Services has worked during the summer to tune up all the centers with different adaptation and repair work. Thus, interior painting, repair and replacement of sanitary ware, carpentry and metalwork, improvements in lighting equipment and changes in glassware have been done.

As for secondary schools, the IES Antoni Llidó begins the course with 488 students, the IES Nº1 with 537 and the ESO line of the Immaculate Mary with 117.

These figures are practically identical to those of the past year in which 1963 students were enrolled in children and primary school and 946 in secondary school.

What's new in this course

With regard to the transport service, this course incorporates an important novelty since a bus, financed by the Generalitat, will cover the transport of the buses for free 'forced displaced'. This is the student body that has not obtained a place in their reference center and is forced to move to another one further from their residence. In total about 30 students will benefit from this service.

On the other hand, the Graüll school will have for the first time a specific classroom for NEE students (Special Educational Needs). The classroom will serve 8 boys and girls who, due to their personal circumstances, cannot adapt successfully to the rhythm and learning strategies of the common classrooms.
