This coming Saturday, September 17, will be World Cleanup Day. Xàbia joins, for the fifth consecutive year, this initiative with which it is intended to make citizens aware of caring for the environment and reducing waste.
The day will take place in different areas of the municipality, with the help of several volunteer groups, as well as citizens, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In total, there are 11 points both on the coast and in urban areas where action will be taken.
Councilwoman Services, Kika Mata, has pointed out that "every year there are more who join this action. This year we have, in addition to the 13 entities, with the environmental educators of Tetma (company in charge of the cleaning service in Xàbia), as well as two tourism companies who lend their kayaks to access hard-to-reach areas". The mayor has invited citizens to join this initiative and contribute a grain of sand in the fight to care for the environment.

People interested in participating can register in advance through Services, by sending an email to servicios@ajxabia.org or by filling out use this form before Friday the 16th at 14:00 p.m. Likewise, they can also go the same day of the call to one of the cleaning points and join the work. At the moment, a hundred people, of all ages, have confirmed their participation in the world cleaning day.
At the end of the day there will be a snack for the volunteers at the Riurau d'Arnauda and a games area to improve knowledge of how to separate waste correctly.
