February 26 from 2021 - 12: 26

The aid convened by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility to alleviate the economic effects caused by COVID-19 and the decrease in mobility register more than 1.500 applications. Of the total of the instances presented up to this moment, 716 requests correspond to the province of Valencia; to Castellón, 95 applications, and to Alicante, 707 applications, which represents that "a third of the taxi drivers in the Region have already requested these aid", as highlighted by the Minister of Mobility, Arcadi Spain.

These direct aid to holders of taxi authorizations based in the Valencian Community, the Minister recalled, can be requested until next March 10 and are endowed with a global budget of 4.750.000 euros.

Likewise, the minister explained that the amount of the aid will be at least 1.000 euros and that it will be determined by the result of dividing the global amount by the number of authorized authorizations.

In the Valencian Community there are currently 4.736 licenses, of which 232 are from the province of Castellón, 1.420 from Alicante and 3.084 from Valencia, and as the minister has underlined, "It is a fundamental sector for mobility in which thousands of people work, in addition to being very essential for other economic sectors, such as tourism for example."

In this sense, he added that, with this aid, from the Generalitat, "We want to support the taxi sector that has suffered a significant decrease in income due to mobility restrictions caused by the coronavirus."

Precisely, Arcadi Spain has highlighted, the Ministry has opted for these grants through the direct granting procedure "because of the exceptional, unique and unpredictable nature of the events that have motivated them".

The request may be submitted electronically at the electronic headquarters of the Generalitat by accessing the Prop Guide, section 'procedures and services'. For electronic processing, an advanced electronic signature must be available, with a certificate admitted by the electronic headquarters of the Generalitat.
