Marta Sánchez, sailor of the Club Náutico de Jávea, returns to training after seven weeks of injury

16 September 2021 - 14: 05

Marta Sánchez, sailor of the Club Nautico de Javea, resumes his training after his soleus injury that affected him before the summer. His perseverance in extending training hours has a reason: to arrive at the World Cup in Sardinia, Italy, "in the best physical condition."

Sánchez has overcome seven weeks of recovery after a month of August in which he had to travel to Valencia every day to go to the AD Fisioterapia physiotherapy clinic. Together with these professionals, the sailor has developed a plan to increase the training time.

The athlete has stated: "You have to prepare everything fully both physically and materially." The kite formula world championship will be held from October 11 to 17, although she assures that "it is better to go slowly and with caution" so as not to be damaged again.

Marta Sánchez has the support of the coach of the Spanish Olympic team, which is the national coach, Antonio Mínguez, and of the Club Náutico Jávea.

On the other hand, the sailor will attend a few days before the World Cup for training sessions at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia in collaboration with the Valencian Community Sailing Federation. There he will meet other prominent sailors such as Álex Climent and Gisela Pulido, with the coach Minguez.

The sailor has been selected in the shortlist of pre-Olympics that will aspire to represent Spain in the 2024 Paris Olympics. For this reason, once the World Cup is over, a cycle of European and World Championships will begin to get one of the places in kite formula, since in Paris this discipline is already Olympic.
