14 2020 April - 14: 06

The sailor Luis Aroca has managed to prevail in the first edition of the Quarantine Cup organized by the Club Nautico de Javea during these weeks of confinement bound by the alarm decree.

Aroca, at the helm of Lontano, managed to be the best in the four tests that took place this weekend to define the final classification. Each of the tests was done with a different boat: Star, 49er, Day boat racer and Offshore racer and in two of the four tests, it was the first.

Juanjo Royo was in second position at the head of Juanjolo and José Mayent was third with the Faritorero boat.

The difficulty of the four tests with different boats was revealed in the results of the 21 participants, in fact, Aroca himself ranked 17th in one of them, Royo and Mayent also occupied the same position in two others. And that was the test in which they applied the discard.

After this pioneering championship, the sports director of the Club Nautico de JaveaJavier Momparler has stressed that it has been a “Very positive experience in which we have all discovered the world of virtual racing” to all partners and members of the fleets. In addition, he has recognized that some of the club's veteran sailors, regulars of cruiser class comxicotetions, such as Jose Luis Vicente Almazán, Alejandro Liniers or Rafael García Bartual, “They have also been hooked” to these virtual tests.

Momparler has pointed out that from now on the sports management invites all the sailors who have discovered this discipline to participate in the tests that are being organized both by the Community Sailing Federation, as well as by other clubs, or even the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation.
