The Balcón al Mar Volunteers will reinforce from July 1 the forest surveillance and prevention work in the forest areas of the south of the municipality such as La Guardia, Costa Nova or granadella.
This group, linked to the association of Hispanic Neighbors of Balcón al Mar, faces the summer season with renewed energy, new volunteers and the improvement of their vehicles, material and equipment. During the summer months, they will carry out surveillance checkpoints every afternoon and will have someone operating at their checkpoint 24 hours a day in case it is necessary to mobilize.
Today, the mayor, José Chulvi, and the councilor for Citizen Security and Emergency Prevention, Pepa Gisbert, have visited the headquarters of the Volunteers to thank them for the great work they do both in fire prevention and in other emergency situations, such as floods.
