Xàbia will be present, one more year at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair that takes place in Madrid and will continue in the line of tourism promotion of recent years, the Sustainable Xàbia.
Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, José Chulvi, has indicated that Xàbia is a benchmark for sustainable management in the Mediterranean, so FITUR will talk about two things, "at what point they are in the Biosphere certification and a new project, Ambaixadors Plus, which is also framed within this strategy with the tourist promotion of the values that differentiate us."
Chulvi has indicated that with Ambaixadors it is intended to unite the efforts here with those who come from outside to turn them into residents, workers and investors, "Xàbia has a strategy, an idea of the future with which you want to eliminate the difference between tourist and resident. We want to take care of people and the territory and generate more benefits than traditional tourism promotion models to enhance this difference and consolidate a position of market that favors our people. This line is not new since cities like London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam already work in it ".
The mayor explained that there will be a protocol and welcome guide for tourists to know what are the procedures to stay in Xàbia and what are the traditions and customs of the area, "since Xàbia has more than 50% of foreign population. People no longer come alone on vacation or to retire and we want to take advantage of the Ambaixadors Plus to be residents of Xàbia ".
Biosphere
The presence of Xàbia will be within the stand of the Costa Blanca, where it will have a counter staffed by an informant from the Department of Tourism. In parallel, Chulvi has advanced, Xàbia will also be at the stand of the
Destination community Biosphere, a powerful brand and global reference in terms of sustainable tourism in which Xàbia, which is working to obtain certification, is the only municipality in the Valencian Community that will be in Fitur.
For its part, the tourism technique, Carol Cholbi, explained that the first day of the fair, on Wednesday 23 in January, at 13 hours, will be presented at the stand of Biosphere of the strategic line in which you are working. The sustainability program and the presentation of Ambaixadors Plus will be at the stand of the Valencian Community. The Fair has three days for professionals and the weekend for the general public.
Also, within the programming of activities, as in other years, the Queen and Ladies of the festivities of Les Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia will parade in the morning at the IFEMA fairground and in the afternoon they will make a parade down the Gran Vía from Madrid, from Plaza de Callao to Puerta del Sol.
