The cleanliness and the correct image of Xàbia is a constant claim of the Popular, "it is a basic service for the quality of life of the neighbors and acquires special relevance as it is a tourist municipality. Xàbia must be clean, beautiful and cared for", they say from the PP.
From the PP they point out that Xàbia has a list of municipal public buildings in which no intervention has been carried out in their restoration, in their maintenance and in the painting of their facades "for years, as is the case of the Soler Blasco Museum, whose rough wall is totally blackened, or the case of Ca Lambert, Municipal Market or the Calvary Chapel, where uncorked walls, humidity problems and hanging herbs damage the structure of the building and its image ".
Los Populares indicate that the maintenance of all public spaces "corresponds to the municipal government." From the PP they influence that the last action that was made in municipal buildings "was in 2018, when the PP required the municipal government to maintain the Central Cinema, a complaint that was effective, since the next day they were painted; but nothing was he knows when the works of the claimed project will be executed to intervene in the Casa Candelaria ".
Restoration plan
Xàbia has municipal buildings that are a sample of our traditional architecture and that are currently deteriorated, "which makes necessary a plan of restoration and continued maintenance of the buildings, in facades, balconies, windows and doors. It is not acceptable that the new urban regulations, approved
for the socialist government, demand from the neighbors how their homes should be, and instead that the municipal government does not set an example in the municipal buildings in the old town ".
Rosa Cardona, spokesman for the PP of Xàbia, proposes to the municipal government "to revitalize and value the historic center of Xàbia, because we are back in the tourist season and Xàbia is not prepared to show off its best image, only with the exception of the Church of St. Bartholomew".
Cardona asks the government of José Chulvi "To promote that the houses of the municipality present a neat and clean appearance, and that for the conservation of the municipal heritage the maintenance of the municipal buildings is carried out to convey the unique charm of this town".
The popular spokeswoman has indicated that "if the municipally owned buildings are in perfect condition, it will positively transcend the rest of the private properties; and the best way to encourage the tidying up of private properties in the historic center is for the Town hall promote a plan for the restoration, maintenance and painting of facades, to which residents can opt in order to encourage the repair and painting of private homes".
