The rows of Moros i Cristians de Xàbia together with local festive entities (Casa de Andalucía, Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno, Mare de Déu de Loreto and Fogueres de Sant Joan) celebrated, during the afternoon of yesterday, Wednesday, the floral and food offering to Sant Jaume in the Parish of the Sea, the Virgin of Loreto.
The act began in the arcade of Pio XII with the image of Sant Jaume at the head of the entourage carried by the Filà Ballesters and before the attendance of a multitude of public. The participants walked the streets of Duanes de la Mar to finish in the Church and thus offer to their patron saint of festivities.
In the offering, opening the act, the women who have held the position of flag bearers, both Moorish and Christian, during the last 25 years (when this figure was incorporated in the Moors and Christians festivities) participated.
The offering of flowers to Sant Jaume marks the beginning of the great days of these traditional festivals and is also full of solidarity since the food provided by the rows is destined for Cáritas Nuestra Señora de Loreto.
The parade was closed by the Festes Board, a municipal corporation, the 2022 Captaincy with its Captains at the helm, Florencio Mata and Rosa Catalá, and the 2022 Flag Bearers, Carla Llidó and Lucía Llidó. The offering ended with the firing of pyrotechnics.
