The next month of March, Xàbia will be the scene of a great athletic event. Undoubtedly, the toughest ultra-distance comxicotetion, the Non-Stop Jávea 678 Ultratriathlon. A sporting event that will take place from the 29 to the 31 in March and that is carried out as a solidary challenge, since part of the collection will go to the Mini Refugio Neus located in Valencia.
The test, organized by the personal trainer, Manuel Luna, consists of performing three ironmans at the same time and without stopping. The Triple Ultratriathlon are 678 kilometers in total spread over 11,4 km by swim, 540 km by bike and 126,6 km by foot. "I recognize that it is a super challenge, we could say that it's crazy, it's many hours of effort, but the end is solidary and we have 20 athletes enrolled, the best in ultradistance will be in Xàbia", noted the event organizer.
A Triple Ironman that will feature top-level, international athletes "And the highlight, four of them suffer disability being one of them blind, which makes the test even more emotional and eager to move on. The delivery of these people makes you see that there is nothing impossible", says Luna.
Although the circuits are still being determined by where each of the segments will be made to complete the distances, Manuel Luna has indicated that the concentration will take place in the Parador de Jávea, regarding the first test, the swim "It will be two laps to a circuit of about 6 km through the bay of Xàbia".
The bike test, which will run through the interior of the Marina Alta region, will consist of 8 laps of about 67 km and the race test will be 10,5 laps in a 12 km route through Xàbia to complete the 126 kilometers planned.
Participating athletes
The confirmed athletes have a great resume of participation in ultradistance tests. Among the participants is José Manuel López, 'impossible 365', an athlete of great level that among its challenges is to achieve 90 Ironmans in a year and have participated in the Quintuple Ironman continuous, adding the comxicotetion in dozens of ultradistance tests and collaboration in solidarity challenges.
It will also arrive from Mexico Rafa Jaime Jaramillo, a paralympic athlete who is blind and has the title of being the blind triathlete who made his debut in Mexico and the first athlete to complete the Ironman in Latin America among other winners.
To this test joins the team formed by Aaron, César and Hugo, two Mexicans and a Spaniard who will arrive in Xàbia to conquer the Jávea 678. On this team we highlight the great work of the three. Aarón Lozoya is a boy from Chihuahua, Mexico with quadriplegia due to a car accident.
