El Miguel Buigues Pavilion of Xàbia hosted the youth category match between the Club Handbol Xàbia and the CB Elche. A match that was very even until the end of it. The youth of the Xabiero team were aware of the difficulty involved in surprising the whole of CB Elche, since in the first round match they had lost 10 goals.
This time it was not like that and the match was much more even though the victory went to the city of palm trees by 24 to 26.
The local team, CH Xàbia started with a solid and strong defense that, together with organized attacks and without haste, managed to maintain the initial thrust of Elche during the 20 first minutes of play of the first part.
However, in the last part of the first part, a series of turnovers meant that the end came with an 11-15 that did not reflect what happened in the field.
In the second half, the bench depth in the xabieros allowed them to make fast attacks as well as keeping the players cool on the court. The game was ordered, although suffering a lot due to the few hits of shots of 9 meters. The good work of the Xavarese kids allowed them to finish this period with a tie on the scoreboard.
With this defeat, the Club Handbol Xàbia set keeps its second place in the standings and the Elche continues leading; although the most important thing has been the great evolution they have had in their game in recent months.
