In the middle of last year during the structural reinforcement works that the Town hall de Jávea is being carried out in the Casa Candelaria, which was a Gothic mansion in its beginnings, a set of schematic charcoal drawings was discovered in the oldest layers of the formwork. The paintings depicted sailing boats, two dancing figures, and a warrior with a short sword and shield. After carrying out archaeological studies, the municipal archaeologist, Joaquim Bolufer, has assured that the graffiti dates from the XNUMXth century. These drawings have been recovered, they have been copied and until the City Council can carry out a rehabilitation of Casa Candelaria, they are protected under plates.
