University students can apply for their scholarships to the Generalitat

The Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sports has published the call for scholarships for the realization of university studies during the academic year 2018-2019 in the Valencian universities.

The amount destined for this course to the exemption of the university fees of the beneficiary students is of 4 million euros, what supposes to have increased in an 15% the amount destined during the past course.

Applications may be submitted up to the 15 day of February, by telematic means, which must also be presented at the centers where applicants formalize the registration of their studies during the academic year 2018-2019 or in the registers of the universities, or in the places provided for by the common administrative procedure of public administrations.

Students enrolled in the 2018-2019 academic course can apply for these grants at public Valencian universities, as well as at their affiliated public centers that teach courses for obtaining official undergraduate and master's degrees, or that provide complements to training for access or obtaining the master's degree and complementary credits to obtain the degree.

In addition, students enrolled in private universities and private centers attached to public universities may apply for a scholarship only for the Degree in Veterinary Medicine.

The academic and income criteria required to obtain a scholarship are maintained as in the last call, and it should be remembered that the minimum number of credits registered must be 60. However, students who register for a minimum number of credits between 30 and 59 credits may also obtain a scholarship. This requirement will not be taken into account, once only, for students who have a lower number of credits to complete their studies.

As for the credits that must be exceeded in the last course in order to obtain the scholarship in the case of studies leading to the degree title will be 80% in the case of Arts and Humanities studies, and Social and Legal Sciences; of the 70% in the case of the studies of the branch of knowledge of Health Sciences, and of the 60% in the case of Sciences and Engineering and Architecture.

Exemption from payment of fees

It is necessary to remember that during the past course the Conselleria granted these scholarships to a total of 3.844 university students, of which 3.837 belonged to public universities and 7, to private. Of the total number of beneficiaries, 1.463 studied at the Universitat de València; 661, at the Universitat Politècnica de València; 436, at the Universitat Jaume I; 938, at the University of Alicante, and 339, at the Miquel Hernández University in Elche. Also, 3 students studied at the Cardenal Herrera University and 4, at the Catholic University of Valencia.

For students enrolled in public universities and their affiliated public centers, the scholarship consists of the exemption from the payment of the fees of the credits in which they have enrolled, and for the students enrolled in private universities or in private centers attached to public universities. , this scholarship consists of an aid for the payment of the fees of the credits enrolled.

In both cases, the scholarship only covers the credits enrolled by the student in first and / or second enrollment, and credits that exceed the minimum necessary to obtain the degree will not be part of the enrollment scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded in a comxicotetive comxicotetion regime. If the amount of the proposed scholarships exceeds the maximum overall amount foreseen in this call, these scholarships are awarded, first, for the credits enrolled in the first enrollment and, if there is sufficient credit, it is awarded the scholarships for the credits enrolled in second registration.

Scholarships are awarded in descending order, until the maximum overall amount is exhausted, according to the average grade obtained by the students in the previous or last academic year.

The resolution and notification of scholarship applications estimated and rejected will be published on the website of the Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sports
